As most of you know Buildex was this past week.  Unfortunately, it was scheduled the same time as the Home and Garden Show and I think that impacted on the attendance of both shows.  But it’s always worthwhile to drop by and see what’s new.  Sarah and I had a break in the action on Thursday afternoon giving us the chance to stop by. 

Here’s a few of our highlights:

Contrast Lighting; they never disappoint.  There were some nice additions to their glass pendant collections and also sconces.  I want to chat with them further to discuss LED lighting.  I think that’s the way of the future.

Alliance Doors; I love their flat panel doors and the barn door hardware is always one of my favourites.  (If anyone has seen the images of our house you might remember the glass barn doors) 

Silestone;  We recently had a presentation at our breakfast meeting on Silestone.  We were introduced to their new products and had a great education in the making of Silestone.  Seeing the full slabs at Buildex was pretty impressive. 

Carpet tile; We found the perfect charcoal carpet tile from Main Street Carpet Tile for a project that we are working on that is about 1 ½ years out.  Carpet tile is so sensible for commercial spaces with high traffic.  I can’t wait to see it installed. 

All in all the show was smaller but still worth attending.  We got some good ideas and had the chance to meet some new suppliers.
