Well my rental property transformation is done. I couldn’t have done it without my amazing team; from construction to design it was an incredibly collaborative effort.
Step one was definitely discussing the vision of what this home could and should look like. Anyone who knows me is aware of my love of grey so first stop was to Para Paints to pick the main wall colour. (Para Paints has the BEST selection of grey). And we definitely needed something with good coverage.
Next was to find a solution for the “spindles”. After determining what the building code height was we decided to build pony walls with openings to create a great feeling of space. We tried to save the original hardwood but realize that it would take a miracle to have it look the way we had envisioned. Wall to wall carpet was the obvious solution. And of course grey was the colour of choice.
The front entranceway and dining area now have porcelain tile instead of the original river rock.
The kitchen really needed some tender love and care. The cabinets were in great condition but need some serious scrubbing but worth keeping. The existing counter tops were Corian which we were able to use. After removing a bank of cabinets, new appliances and adding a new backsplash the kitchen looks so much better.
New window coverings, garden clean up, exterior painting and a deck reno were among some of the additions to complete this transformation. Have a look at Flickr to view more before and after images.

Looks absolutely beautiful! Great before and after shots!…
Love everything about it Patti and the Fluff team – well done!!! The pony wall/pass through was a great solution for the spindles, as was removing that upper bank of cabinets in the kitchen to open up the space. Great job!!!
Wow!! Great transformation.
OH MY GOODNESS!! Speechless!
Not surprisingly, your home’s transformation is nothing short of fabulous! Obviously great thought was put into keeping what you could (kitchen cabinets look fantastic). I am drooling over your revitalized deck. 🙂
looks great, good job (as always) Patti and team!
Yeah, Patti! I can’t believe you did this all in two months! It looks beautiful! You GO, girl!
What a beautiful transformation! Love the before and after
Fabulous job Patti! Love the fresh look you created with the light grays, new finishes, & bright pops of colour in the staging. Are you inspired to do another one???
Thanks Ellie! I think I’ll get it a little bit of a rest. The next one’s on you…
