Update on Drayton 2 Renovation

< inspo home

There are two clear and distinctively different aspects to any renovation project:
1. The tearing apart part or deconstruction and
2. The rebuild.

The first day is always so exciting when things start coming down but after several days of dust & dirt the novelty wears off. Once stage 2 starts I love every single day. We are definitely in that stage of this renovation.

Ceilings, Walls and Tiles

The ceilings are all done, the walls are almost all finished with my favourite grey, Snappy Dresser – P5221-24 from Para Paints, and the tiles are set and waiting for grout. I’ve chosen a soft grey grout for the white tub surround tiles. I think it will look great to have the grout be a feature. I’ll keep you posted if my idea meets my expectation.

Bathroom Flooring

I found some very interesting “stick down” tiles from Rona for the lower level bathroom. If a standard tile was spec’d adding a sub-floor would have been necessary creating an elevation change between the new carpeted hallway and the bathroom. This was a great solution and still looks good.

It’s really getting exciting. I think another 2 weeks and we should be done. There’s still a bit of electrical to do, new countertops along with a bit of construction to finish off the kitchen, a good thorough clean and then the real fun happens. We get to stage it!
