Great IKEA Hack

< inspo home

I don’t normally blog about restaurants but I have to share this experience with you. Rick and I had lunch in the most adorable restaurant today. It’s called Plantoplanto. It’s located in North Vancouver at 125 E. 2nd. St. The menu is vegetarian with some vegan choices and Gluten Free is available. It’s fresh and delicious.

But the real thrill was what they did with Ikea furnishings to create a most adorable restaurant. The long communal tables were created with saw-horse bases and wood countertops. The metal bars stools are also from Ikea. The lower tables that are perfect for 2 were made by cutting down the wood countertops and with a little sanding they were perfect. Notice the display shelf?

That’s a series of Lack end table stacked one on top of the other. Clever! Each dining table has a little pot of herbs as a centre piece. The menu and feature wall are chalkboard. They didn’t miss a detail in their “design-on-a-budget”.

The meals were beautifully plated, service was amazing and the atmosphere so bright and cheerful. I’m looking forward to our next visit. It’s only a couple of blocks from the Seabus so well worth coming North. At this point they are only open for lunch but I think that may change soon.
