Tips + Tricks ~ Dining Room Seating

< inspo home

We love to mix things up with the dining room furniture. Often the dining room is only a handful of pieces, so you have to have fun where you can. In this post we will look at 3 different ways to arrange your dining seating and some ideas for adding more interest.

Option #1

Use different head chairs and side chairs

This is great for a grand or formal dining room where you have room spare. We paired these gorgeous oatmeal arm chairs with a slick leather arm-less dining chair for added drama and total glamour. Notice how we made sure that the legs of both styles of chairs are similarly tapered, as are the table legs. The chairs have some elements, such as shape in common but are totally different in materials. Both chairs are, however neutral to keep the palette cohesive.

Option #2

Mix and match chairs

It is surprising how many you can seat comfortably around a round dining table. If you are short on space a round table is a great option. In this vignette we styled our classic tulip table with mix and match  chairs in the same style but slightly different colours and materials. Too many colours in a small space can be a bit much, so one colourful option and the rest neutral make it look right on point.

Option #3

Think about a bench

It is lovely to mix it up by using a bench on one side of your table! This gorgeous walnut table and bench by Gus* Modern add an elegant touch but a modern twist to a dining room arrangement. We love how the modern chairs in a neutral fabric balance the wood and lighten the motif. This look is modern and bohemian. The addition of textured wall art also helps to balance the sleek lines of the table.  A perfect pairing!

We hope you got some tips on ways to mix up your dining space and add some fun with dining room seating. The blog is on break until the end of August when we start exploring all the latest trends for the Holiday season. Until then, have a great summer and see you soon!
