Inexpensive products, Ripe For Reinvention

< inspo home

An article in friday’s Vancouver Sun “Guerrilla Design; Cheap is good but right is better” sparked our interest. The article, written by Felicity Stone, profiles Carolann Rule, former editor of homes and lifestyle magazine  Western Living who has now launched a website – Frugalbits.com – that offers a daily tip on how to get top value for the least expenditure in everything from hotels, Lululemon outlets, to making Ikea furniture look like it’s custom-designed (an art form that is being called Ikea Hacking). Upon further investigation we found some amazing projects that have been done using Ikea products as the basis. The one recurring caution is that the structural integrity cannot be compromised. Have a look around the web it certainly sparked some interesting ideas around Fluff!!
