A New Vancouver Venue

< inspo home

The York Theater on Commercial Drive is getting a much-needed facelift. While Vancouver is losing its oldest theater The Pantages (1907-08), and another beloved gem The Hollywood has been sold and faces an uncertain future, the city has approved a deal to restore the York. When the theater re-opens in early 2013 it will be a 365 seat live venue for both theater and music. Under a design from Henriquez and Partners architects, the York’s art deco facade will be refurbished and there will be a glass lobby added on the southern part of the site.
