My Mini Vacation

< inspo home

It’s incredible what can be experienced in just a few days. Rick and I went to Colorado for a little mini vacation. Hiking was #1 on the list of things to do.

Our first stop was to meet Tammie from Darby. She is the owner of Pineapple Furniture (a company similar to Flüff ) . She is also a former computer programmer so out of necessity she created Darby software for inventory management. We have embraced Darby and couldn’t be happier. It was so nice to meet the woman behind this product.

Off we went to Breckenridge. What a surprise. It is the quaintest little town. Lots of buildings are over 100 years old and restored to perfection. The recent builds are all done to suit this pre century style -and done to perfection. There were lots of great restaurants. (Twist and Relish were my favourites.) We even found a gluten free restaurant. Ah pancakes on a trip. Yum!

What a unique experience for me. I had no idea that at this time of the year the Aspens turn the most incredible colour of yellow. Needless to say our hikes were interrupted with “OMG Rick I have to stop and take some shots”!!!

After an afternoon in Boulder (what a cute city) we headed off to Denver for some city adventures. There is so much building going on in the downtown core and obviously there has been great efforts made to restore it. The city has done a great job. Many of the old buildings have been beautifully restored. It’s remarkable how well the old and the new highrises speak to each other. It’s so nice to have a little vacation but I am always so satisfied to come back to beautiful Vancouver.
