For any of you that have been to Santa Monica you probably know that I was standing on Ocean Avenue above the Pacific Highway when I took this shot.  I couldn’t help but notice that these two homes were so similar yet so different.  My son, who lives with his family in Santa Monica, told me that this home was known as the Barbie house.  That seems to make perfect sense.  I did a little digging and discovered that, yes indeed, this home was built for none other than Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie.   It’s incredible what paint can do!
