IDS West took place this past weekend at the Convention Centre in downtown Vancouver. It was such a pleasure to see all the innovative new designs and creative booth displays. Each booth had something new and exciting and we took endless inspiration from the show.

Design Trend – Green

The show had something for everyone, from arts and crafts to tiles and bathtubs. All the vendors were eager to talk about their products and discuss up and coming trends in the world of design.

Among the products that caught our eye in the Green Trend were glass-top wooden tables, ornate table settings, and elegant floral silk chairs.

Design Trend – Mixing Textures and Raw Materials

Rustic materials with a contemporary edge seemed to be another design main theme of the show. Many of the designs incorporated a contemporary play on a raw material.   Some great examples of this are the concrete slab coffee table that had a mini fireplace in the centre, and raw wooden side tables paired with plexiglass wood grain etchings.

Overall the show was amazing and we’ll be sure to attend the next one.
