Has anyone been to the Getty Villa located just north of Santa Monica?  Rick and I had a chance to tour it the other day. Although the incredible collection of artifacts was outstanding, I couldn’t help but be swept away by the architecture, gardens and the outstanding attention to detail. 

J.Paul Getty created this amazing centre to share his collection of Greek and Roman artifacts.  Initially, the display was in his home on this magnificent 64 acre setting overlooking the ocean. The original J. Paul Getty Museum was opened in 1974 to accommodate the ever growing collection. The site was closed from 1997-2006 for renovations and was re-opened as the Getty Villa. 

I couldn’t help but be impressed! I strongly suggest spending a few hours in this incredible gallery & garden. You won’t be disappointed.
