A lovely piece of furniture came back with some water damage.
My first attempt was to remove the mark with toothpaste. I have used this method in the past with success. However it seems this water mark mixed with the type of finish on the wood was no match.
Next was paint thinner. Still no match.
Next I tried a method I found with a quick Google search, using a dry iron. Instantly the marks were gone! Word to the wise however, using the dry iron did start to melt the finish when I left it on for too long.
With a piece of thin cotton fabric in between and a quick pressing of the iron the furniture was as good as new!
