Gluten-Free Vancouver

< inspo home

We love discovering all Vancouver has to offer. There are constantly new stores, restaurants and coffee shops popping up! Here’s our favourite new gluten-free Vancouver finds:

Coffee Shops

Coffee Shop

Bean Around the World, Main & 20th

This location always has a great supply of gluten-free goods! The coffee is amazing, and so was that scone. They also host different artists series on the walls, we love that they support local talent!

Coffee Bar, Gastown

Firstly, the latte’s and hot chocolate are the best in Vancouver. They also have an ever-growing selection of gluten-free and vegan treats. My favourite is the matcha bar.

Culprit

Culprit Coffee Company

We discovered this great shop earlier this week! We love the bright yellow exterior and great interior features, like the vintage flashlight pendant. We bought the almond butter cookies and they were the best I have ever eaten!

Bakery

Bakery

The Gluten-Free Epicurean

They have so many options at this bakery, suited to a wide range of allergens. My two favourite things are the pizza bun, and the caramel tart (show in the image). Matchstick Coffee Roasters are a couple doors down, and have delicious coffee!

Two Daughters Bakeshop

Most items in this bakery are gluten-free and vegan. On weekends she makes great artisnal breads, like olive and cheese! This blueberry custard tart had the flakiest pastry, hard to believe it’s gluten-free!

Cartem’s Donuterie

I remember the days of running to Cartem’s pop-up donut shop while I was in college. The growth this company has had is astronomical. It’s so nice to see newer companies having a loyal following, and not treating it like a trend! They create unexpected flavour pairings that are delicious! They now have tons of gluten-free, vegan options. My favourite is the vanilla bean, the dough is so soft and chewy!

Dinner and Dessert

Restaurant’s

Nuba

Nuba is a great spot to go with friends as they have options for everybody! There are endless options for gluten-free, vegan, and meat share plates. The food is consistantly fresh and delicious. Our top picks are the Mjadra and Najib Special. The atmosphere is lively, and they have locations in most Vancouver neighbourhood’s. We love the decor of the E. 3rd location (shown in image).

Meet on Main

This is the type of restaurant that Vancouver has been lacking – until now! Vegan, gluten-free comfort food. These types of restaurants are all over New York, L.A., and Toronto. It’s so great to have something like this close to home. The infamous sweet and sour cauliflower is so, so addictive. The fry bowls are also great, as well as the mac and cheese (it tastes like aged cheddar – yum!). Almost everything on this menu is gluten-free. They are aware of these allergens and can suggest modifications to meals containing gluten!

Pizza

Hell Pizza

This is our favourite pizza shop! They have such unexpected, delicious flavour pairings. We recommend the sinister, which has re-fried beans, avocado, and jalapeno. We also love that they delivery the pizza in a hearse.

Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria

They have a wide range of flavours, which are then cooked in a traditional wood-burning oven. The whole menu is delicious; salads, pizza’s, and gelato! The service is always amazing, you’re always greeted with a smile!

Juicery

juicery

Krokodile Pear

There are a million and one juiceries in Vancouver, but we love these two new discoveries! The juice in this image, called the “amazing laughter”, is so refreshing. The juices are well-priced, and make you feel healthy and energized. The location is right downtown, near Yaletown and Granville.

Radicle Juice

I am addicted to this juicery. The owner is the wife of Adrenaline Vancity Tattoo Shop owner, David Nixon. She’s the sweetest person! She always remembers you – even though they’re slamming busy. The acai bowls are very filling, yet light. They have great smoothie flavours like The Engineer (mint chocolate chip), and Smooth Operator (Peanut Butter, Chocolate) on menu. It’s a great spot to check on Main Street!

We love that there are so many more options for gluten-free, as well as vegan, eats in Vancouver now! We hope you  try out some of these places, let us know what you think!
