Each year, we spend time with our family and friends to celebrate the winter season. We’re wondering, what do you cherish about the holidays?
Christmas Tree Shopping
There’s something so special about choosing a Christmas tree with your family or loved ones. Although they are messy, we love having a real tree in the home!
Decorating The Tree
We love seeing a classically decorated Christmas tree as a tradition, but why not try a trendier option this year? Perhaps try a white tree with white lights and colourful ornaments, a white tree with gold ornaments, or an all-black options!
Cozy Up Indoors
In the cold winter months, there’s no better feeling than cuddling up with a warm blanket and book. It’s always important to take some personal down time, but it’s much easier to complete this when it’s chilly outside!
Spend Time With Loved Ones
Most people have some time off during the holidays. Spend this time connecting with loved ones that you haven’t seen in a while! Cook dinner with friends, grab some hot chocolate, and reminisce.
Attend Parties
Who doesn’t love an excuse for getting dressed up for a party? The holidays are the best time to do this! Bust out the glitter, colour, and over-sized shapes for this season’s festivities.
Christmas Light Tour
Gather up some friends and take a tour of your city’s decorated houses. There are some pretty spectacular and elaborate light displays!
Holiday Window Displays
We love checking out the holiday window displays at department stores. Such creativity goes into designing these displays, go have a peek!
Outdoor Ice Skating
Outdoor ice-skating is such a romantic idea, it reminds us of the movie Serendipity (too cute!). Plan a date, or go with your friends. Most venues offer free skating with a skate rental.
Give Back To The Community
There are endless ways to help out in your community during this holiday season. We know it’s a busy time, but there’s always some time to set aside for others. Some ways to help out are gathering clothing and home items for a charity, create and give out hampers to those in need, volunteer at a soup kitchen, start a canned food drive, or offer a monetary donation to your charity of choice. This year at Fluff, we gathered warm clothes for the Covenant House, as well as raised money for our charity-of-choice this year, the Saint James Music Academy. We would like to specially thank our donors this year:
Janet Godkin from Shabby Hour
Famoso on Commercial Drive
Carl Severson from Bond Reproduction
Judy Rink from Space Magic
LDJ Contracting LTD
Tudor and Maggie Weeks
Thanks to all of our wonderful donors and attendees of our annual party. We can’t wait to do some of these holiday traditions. Which one is your favourite?
