Chock-full of vintage shops, boutique boulangeries, and record shops, High Street, Melbourne, has something for everybody.
Colourful Tibetan flags on a sunny day line High Street.
The whole of High Street has a vintage feel. You will find hand-painted lettering for shops, and places like this barber shop that likely haven’t been updated since they opened.
High Street has a ton of shops focusing on locally made goods. The Make-It Collective has curated goods from a heap of local designers. We love all the bright colours and prints!
One thing to be noted throughout all of Melbourne is the stunning architecture. Each building has special details, and a very European design.
Here’s another example of the hand-lettering for a shop.
The mid-day sun makes these buildings pop!
You can’t help but feel inspired walking the streets of Melbourne. There’s so much design and thought put into the city!
We love, love, love Happy Valley Bookshop. Not only does this bright yellow wall fill us with joy, their stocked goods are AMAZING.
There’s great gift options like this “Small Pleasures” deck. If you want to instantly warm someone’s heart, pick up this deck.
The shop has every niche magazine you could dream up. Find Kinfolk, Drift, and Apartmento. Plus, they have Cabin Porn (a must-read on our list).
Even the cars are old-school here!
Little details of Burnside coffee shop.
How amazing is this storefront!? Custom t-shirts sold out of a window/optical illusion. Pretty cool.
This building technically isn’t on High Street, but in the super cool area Fitzroy (which we will be writing about soon, stay tuned!). We love the graphic black and white doodles. It’s kind of our dream home, really!
